Dish Covers

What size dish cover should I buy?

We have a variety of sizes to ensure that you find a size to fit any bowl. We have put together a handy size guide to help you select the right sizes for your home. Click here to view our size guide.

 Are your covers coated?

Our covers are not coated with beeswax or another sealant. Our covers are made out of cotton and are designed to be breathable, so as to not let condensation and moisture build up in your dish. To find out more on how our dish covers work, read our handy blog post.

Are dish covers just used to protect against insects?
No! Dish covers are excellent for use in the fridge. Their breathable fabric allows warmth to evaporate, cooling food more efficiently compared to cling wrap, which traps heat and causes condensation.

What about bacteria?
Cling wrap or sealed plastic lids can cause food to sweat, leading to condensation and creating a warm, damp environment ideal for bacterial growth. Dish covers help avoid this by allowing the food to breathe.

Does the food dry out?
The recommended storage time depends on the moisture content of the dish. For example, overnight to three days is suitable for most dishes. If storing a chicken breast, consider making chicken mayo. Soups and food in sauces can last for 4-5 days. Remember, your fridge is a moist, air-stagnant environment.

What about fridge odors?
It’s like magic! The fabric absorbs the lovely aroma of the food, even strong scents like onions.

What should you do if they get dirty?
Simply toss them in the wash with your laundry.

How about food that could potentially stain, like curry sauce?
Fortunately, if you’re working with curry sauce in the kitchen, rinse any spots immediately to prevent staining.

Bread Bags

Does the bread dry out in the bag?
Good quality bread should dry out gradually. If you have a beautiful, crispy chunk of bread by the third day, perfect for making breadcrumbs, it means you’ve bought a loaf without preservatives and stored it properly.

Are these bags big enough?
Yes! Although they may not look like they will fit, we've tested various sizes. Larger bags tend to be too bulky, taking up too much counter space, especially after enjoying a freshly baked loaf.

Tea Towels

Are the tea towels pre-washed?
In consideration of the environment, we choose not to pre-wash our tea towels.

Do they shrink?
Being made of cotton, they may shrink slightly (about 1/8th of an inch in width) but tend to relax again during use.
